PURPOSE OF THE WORKSHOP

The aim of the Workshop is to point out the new developments in Algebraic Geometry in the last few years and the prospects of many theories in this field, including curves and their moduli, surfaces and higher dimensional varieties, vector bundles and toric varieties. Special attention will be focused on exterior algebra methods, which have recently become more and more important in computational algebraic geometry, syzygies, hyperplane arrangements, the theory of Chow forms and resultants and combinatorics.

All the lectures will be given by the most outstanding experts in the field at a first-line research level. They will treat various aspects of their recent works, mainly in progress, that involve the exterior algebra methods and the way to use them to solve both classical and emerging problems. Furthermore a large section of the Workshop will be devoted to other recent and new directions in Algebraic Geometry.
